AE business address
I am aware that AE profession libérale cannot use either a PO Box or a registered address service (domiciliation). This creates some issues both in terms of privacy of home address and the fact that when we move to France we will be in a gîte, and likely moving as soon as we find bigger rental accommodation or a house to buy.
Both my husband and I will be setting up as separate AEs, so we will both need to register the same gîte address for our businesses. I will be offering data protection consultancy, plain English editing and training, and career coaching. He will be offering data protection consultancy. I have seen a previous question on a similar topic suggesting this may lead to an inspection to check we are really separate businesses with different clients. I have no issue with that, as we genuinely are. But as we are married, we are inevitably going to be living at the same address!
Is there really no alternative to registering with the home address? It seems mad that if I was sat at home behind a sewing machine, making things to sell online, I could use a PO Box or domiciliation service, but I can’t if I am sat at home behind a laptop offering consultancy services.
