Are 2 separate businesses needed if engaged in 2 very different activities (NAF/CPF/Nice classes)?
We have recently moved to France. We intend to undertake two sets of business activities in France. Both sets are ultimately aimed at advancing the “St André International Center for Ethics and Integrity”, which is a non-profit incorporated in Nebraska, USA, but which will have its physical headquarters in the south of France. But according to the NAF/CPF and Nice classifications they are very different activities.
Activity Set 1: Renting out conference/seminar and lodging facilities in the chateau we own, once renovated
NAF/CPF: I. HEBERGEMENT 55.20.1 or 55.90.11 or 55.90.19 & L. SERVICES IMMOBILIERS 68.20.12
Nice : Classe 43: Services de restauration (alimentation); hébergement temporaire 430205, 430187, 430211, 430028 & Classe 36: Services… de biens immobiliers
Activity Set 2: Organizing ethics seminars, ethics teaching, ethics consultancy, ethics research
NAF/CPF : M. SERVICES PROFESSIONNELS, SCIENTIFIQUES ET TECHNIQUES 72.20.4, 74.90.19 & P. SERVICES DE L’ENSEIGNEMENT 85.59.13
Nice : Classe 41 : services d’éducation etc. 410044, 410045, 410240, 410048, 410239, 410024, 410091 & Classe 42 : recherches scientifiques 420222
Would it be best/necessary to organize two separate businesses for these different sets of activities (presumably a SARL, SAS or Societé Civile for each).
Thank you
