Auto-entrepreneur or conjoint collaborateur?

My husband works as auto-entrepreneur in computing for foreign clients via agencies. He has increased the amount of work he takes on but has been advised by an accountant that the next jump up above the 32,600€ limit would not be worth it as he would in effect lose the next 10,000‹€ in tax/cotisations. Sometimes at the times he is busiest the agency has asked whether I could do any work as well (I could) but until now I have been busy with renovating etc.

If I decided to do some occasional work, because I don’t want to work fulltime, would I be better registering as an AE myself or going as conjoint collaborateur? if I did the latter, would our combined income have to be below the 32,600€ ceiling? Are there any other implications we should consider?
