Best way to structure a ski chalet business?
I have secured a chalet for the upcoming winter season. Expected turn over circa 30,000 euros and 40,000 euros per year (will not show a profit for the first 3 seasons). The chalet has 4 rooms and 8 beds. We will provide breakfast and dinner and will provide wine on the table with dinner. My wife and I plan to work in the chalet and do not plan to employ any staff. We has rented the Chalet for 5 months from the owner who is British. I have set up a business in the UK (most of the customers are from the uk). Its a limited company.
- How should I structure the business in France? (keeping in mind I have set up a UK business)
- Being a catered chalet can I register the business as a Chambre D’Hotes and if not, then what?
- Would we need an alcohol licence, and if so how do we get it?
- To get the alcohol licence would we need to have a registered business or can you go as an individual?
- Can I set up the business before or without securing a chalet lease?
I have engaged with another party on setting up a business and they say they can’t set up the business for me without a signed commercial leased. I have a signed rental agreement from the owners agent which I’m told is not a commercial lease.
