Can I live in France and trade through a UK limited company?
I am currently a sole trader in the UK but I now live mostly in France. I run a small internet based business. All sales are done in the UK. The items are stored and packed, shipped from the UK in the UK. So all I do in France is internet based. I don’t sell anything in France. I am thinking of setting up a UK Limited company with my husband and wanted to check that I understand the implications that will have here in France.
To explain a little about our situation: My husband has an auto-entrepreneur. This is separate to my business and he fills out a French tax return. He is a freelance designer. I have a French tax number as we had another business which I was a part of. Therefore I am now on his tax return. This business has now stopped. I assume that I will still have a French tax number on the next tax return. We have owned a house in France for 4 years. This is our only property. None in the UK. But I have a registered address in the UK, meaning I can register the Limited company to that address. I do not have any employees, nor will I.
So if I was to set up a UK Limited company with my husband. On the French tax return we would have to declare any profits we bring into the country? As in worldwide income. But I would still do my banking in the UK and pay UK corporation tax.
So what should I declare on my husbands French income tax return?
