Carte vitale for unemployed EU citizen
Dear Valerie,
I hope you are well.
I have a peculiar situation. I am Italian, have lived in France since 2014 but fiscally since 2016. In December of 2016 I was “embauché” as a director of a company. I soon after received my social security number and then, a carte vitale issued May 2017.
In the interim… in early 2017 I applied for a Carte de Séjour UE which the Préfecture de Paris gave me for 5 years. I know it was unnecessary but my ID card from Italy is paper…
In May of 2018 my company closed its French operations and I was given a “licenciement économique” which gave me the opportunity to participate in the CSP program from Pôle Emploi for cadres that lose their job because of economic firing. That gave me a status of “stagiare” for one year and 75% of my income. In May I was then changed to a régime général where I received 57% percent until December. I am still enrolled as a “demandeur d’emploi” but my “allocations” have finished.
What does this mean for my right to health insurance?
Thank you!
