Do I need a Carte de Sejour before applying for auto-entrepreneur status?

I am a New Zealander who arrived in France one month ago, and am looking for work as an English teacher. My husband, who is not working, is a UK citizen with a UK passport. I am applying for my carte de sejour (as a wife of a European passport holder). In the meantime, I have been offered some teaching work and want to register as an auto-entrepreneur. The application form for this appears to require a social security number and my carte de sejour details - neither of which I yet have.

Do I need a arte de sejour before applying for auto-entrepreneur status?
Will I need a social security number before applying?
How do I get a Social Security number and will I need my Carte de Sejour first?
