MDenley: Hello, I am currently operating in France as a professional liberal (Golf Teaching Professional). As a consequence of expanding my business interests in the near future I might need to consider employing a member of staff. Do I have to change my legal structure in order to do this?
Many thanks in advance for any help offered.
Valerie: Your current legal structure is an “entreprise individuelle”, i.e. sole trader registered under your name. This doesn’t prevent you from employing a member of staff. You may want to consider the cheques emploi Tres Petites Entreprises which simplifies the declaration process with an in-built “contrat de travail”.
