I am the owner and director of a UK limited company based in the UK. I am planning on moving to France with my partner and am looking for the best option as regards my business structure. I have been advised that one possibility would be to create a French EURL as a 100% owned subsidiary of the UK limited company and appoint myself the gérant. I would effectively be an employee of the EURL and could minimise the impact of cotisations by paying myself a low salary.
The person who advised me of this is not an expert, however, so I wondered if you have come across this structure before? I presume I would have to declare any dividends received through the UK limited company?
