EURL v SASU - Health Care whilst abroad
Hello, Bonjour
I am going to start operating as a consultant in the energy sector, based out of our house in France with work being undertaken both at home but also requiring significant travel overseas.
Looking through your other responses, I am going to go down either the EURL or SASU route; I work on my own but one of my biggest clients would want to deal with me as a company, rather than as an individual, so auto-entrepreneur is out of the question.
I understand that if I choose the EURL route then I would pay social charges but then be covered for my French healthcare in this way (at present I am transitioning from another EU country via S1 - I have a temporary number but still waiting one year on for that Carte Vitale…). My question is whether any healthcare scheme that I would be under here in France would also cover me sufficiently whilst I was working abroad (say, anywhere from 50 - 100 days per annum) in places such as Asia, Middle East, other EU countries.
If not, then potentially my type of work forces me to take out either a decent travel insurance policy or a personal healthcare anyway.
Financially we are lucky to have some savings and so the potential tax advantages of operating a SASU but then only been “paid” out of the first dividend onwards (i.e. after 18 months) is a possibility. I understand that this SASU route does not come with healthcare so the question of whether I need to take out a personal healthcare scheme (due to the travelling) anyway may force my hand.
Hope this is clear enough.
Thanks
