First declaration date?

I made my first declaration, and confirmed it. But i noticed that it says déclaration trimestrielle de chiffre d’affaires, even though I opted to pay monthly. Is this right, bearing in mind that no matter what, this declaration would have been a quarterly declaraation for everyone? Also, it just seems to be sat there, does it process on the deadline day which says 2/5/11, because it seems I could just keep modifying it. I have registered my bank details, for payment.
