French Definition of Spouse

My partner and I are both originally from the UK. We have recently bought a house in France together and plan to live here full time. I am registered as an Auto Entrepreneur and we are in the process of signing up my partner for her own auto-entrepreneur.

We are at present unmarried and not in a civil partnership or PACS. In the eyes of the French system do we count as each other’s spouse for tax and social benefit calculations?
