How to prepare for exceeding auto-entrepreneur limits?

There is a chance that I may exceed the auto-entrepreneur limits this year. If this does happen what does it mean for and what do I need to do? My husband and I will be changing the way the business runs next year and so I am unlikely to go over next year. Do I still need to change if it is a one off? Is there anything I can do to prepare for this situation now?
