How to set up a small business selling materials purchased in the UK?
I would like to understand how best to begin a small business selling materials purchased in the UK. I have a wholesale supplier who is able to privately ship unlimited amounts of paints, stains, door furnitures, sealants, wood burning stoves and various other small building materials to me in France. I am renovating an old property but the prices are such that I can’t help but wonder if it were possible to sell via Internet and local delivery?
I have spoken to my supplier who is ready to ship at a moments notice but as ready as I might be, the question of legality with regard not just the business but handling of certain materials, insurance’s etc looms. I have no intention of doing anything without the confidence of legitimacy and need to understand the kind of cost implications to best asses whether I have a business to begin with.
