I don’t raise invoices, does this matter?

When reading about the paperwork required, I note that I should be raising invoices to my customers.

Because I work through an uber-type website, I don’t raise invoices. I do work and then get paid. Though I have many people I provide my work to, there is only one organisation that pays me: the website.

Is it sufficient to simply account for these payments as line items - or must I also have invoice documents on file to reflect these payments?
