Number of clients for Auto Entrepreneur

For the best of my understanding AE should have more than 1 client. Is it correct?

My question is - how much time do I have to find more than 1 client (1 month, 6 months, 1 year… )?
What happens if I continue to have only one client for a long time, assuming the total income is still below the AE threshold (let’s say 50K per year)? Should I switch to a different regime?
