Pay income tax monthly or yearly as an auto-entrepreneur?

I have watched your auto entrepreneur video and have a few questions regarding the payment of income tax. In the video you mention 2 options:
- Paid at the source / impot liberatore
- Micro entreprise
My questions:
- Would I be correct in assuming that the only difference between these 2 options is when you pay your tax, i.e. monthly / quarterly vs the following year?
- If I chose option 2, do I remain as an auto-entrepreneur or do I become a micro entreprise?
- Is option 2 also eligible for the CFE exoneration for 3 years?
- My husband works and gets a salary. If I go for option 1 and pay too much tax for what I earn in the year, can the excess tax be used against my husband’s income and would I still need to put in a joint tax return?
