Protecting assets auto entrepreneur

Hi, I work as an auto entrepreneur and my wife has a SARL. Would I be right in thinking that my statute only protects our main residence and not our other properties? Am I also right in thinking that my wife’s SARL protects all our property as she has limited responsibility? I believe that I can pay for a Notaire to write a document that would give me protection but it seems costly at 1500 euros. Would this document need to be changed every time we added a property and if so at what cost? I was told that the Chambre de Metiers have started supplying these documents at a much lower cost, around 180 euros but that seems a little strange to me?
