Question about m2 of working space for business registration

I have a question about a SIE form that I need to submit for my business set up. It asks that if I’m working from home, I need to specify the number of m2 occupied for the needs of the business carried on from my home. Am I expected to provide the m2 of the whole house or just the office space that I work in? And do you know why they ask for this (ie does it affect the amount of tax you pay?)
