My wife wants to operate a business that has multiple facets. We are English intending to live and work in France with some work in the UK for my Wife’s activities.
- Create pictures and prints of the pictures to sell at events, markets, shows and on line.
- To create and sell craft items, refurbished brocante. Sold as above.
- To write articles for English publications and her own book.
- Possibly teach art in private classes.
- Possibly run small art holiday breaks. Not accommodation just the art.
What regime/regimes does she need to register for? The business turnover be below 32,000 euros.
- What taxes and social charges would she pay in France?
- I understand that artists register as artist libre and then progress to Maison Des Artistes. Is she exempt tax and charges up to 8,000 euros?
- Will some activities fall under micro-enterprise?
- Are taxes and social charges paid against income monthly or quarterly in arrears?
- Does she have to do any courses?
- She has an English university degree in creative art and English and a teaching qualification. Is she able to teach?
- We want the most efficient tax/social charges regime as the business needs to minimise outgoings at the start so it can grow and provide personal income and pay expenses?
- Would you be able to set my Wife up with the required regimes?
