Structure advice for small business in France?

We have been living in France for about 4 years and have just filed our first tax return in this country (living on savings etc. no income). During the past year we were PACSed. We own our own home mortgage free.

So now we want to start a small business in France, changeovers, gardening, pool cleaning, small repairs, most of this will be seasonal but we hope to carry out some tasks throughout the year. We already have 3 clients lined up and although the turnover is not expected to be high it might grow (about 5000 euros in year one) both of us will be working for the company and due to it being a service provision will have very little to offset.

Our accountant advised either a Micro or Auto-entrepreneur with Auto-entrepreneur being recommended as simple to operate and also enables both of us to work for the same business. Is this the best given low turnover and high partner social charges? Given that we are carrying out a number of different roles would it be best (simpler and cheaper) to register as separate businesses, and if so which structure?

Is there a minimum turnover, before which it makes it impractical and loss making given all the charges and accountancy fees, that make it counter productive to open a business in France? Is there any way to simply see the pros and cons of each scheme?
