UK company setting up French Subsidiary

One of my clients might consider setting up a French subsidiary as there are two contractors (myself through my UK limited company, and another person) who are French residents and who service international contracts.

I would like to know if it would be beneficial to me to be an employee in such an arrangement, and, if so, what information I can give to the UK company to help them to make a decison on this.

What would be the benefits to a UK organisation to have a subsidiary in France?  What benefits might there be in servicing clients from the EU?  What benefits might there be in servicing clients from the beyond the EU? And what would be the costs of setting up and maintaining this arrangement?

For me personally, what would be the financial implications of being paid a salary of (possibly) 55,000€?  I am 68 years old, am receiving a UK state pension and am over retirement age in France.  In similar circumstances in the UK, I would no longer have to make pension contributions. What is the situation in France?  What other implications may there me because I am over the state retirement age in France?

Looking forward to hearing from you, Valérie.  Many thanks.
