What counts as proof of tax residency?

We recently arrived in France and have been wading through all the admin. We are struggling to open a bank account as a non-French person and Credit Agricole want proof of tax residency. Obviously we have not yet paid any tax in France, but we are considered tax resident under the tax rules as this is our only home, and our centre of economic interests. We will be doing the INPI AE registration tomorrow for my husband (as he is an EU citizen - I have to wait for my CDS before I can do mine). Once he gets a tax number, is that proof he is tax resident here? How are you supposed to prove this in year one given you can’t do a tax return until year 2?
