I am currently living in France, but in the next month will start training (in the UK) on an upholstery course. I would like to make this a business in France. I will not be building furniture, but just buying old chairs etc. in brocantes and re-covering the seats (material parts). Would this be called in France tapissier-decorateurs?
The full training course will take about a year (I will go back and forth to the UK for a number of week-long modules), but as soon as I am able so start restoring small pieces of furniture, I would like to start to sell items. However, I will not be fully trained at this point. My questions are:
- Can I set up as an auto-entrepreneur (artisan) while I am training - i.e. immediately?
- Do I need to prove I am trained to register as a tapissier?
- Will I need to attend any training courses in France?
- Which APE code should I use?
