Which business regime would be best for an artist/furniture builder?
I am an architect who recently left architecture to start designing and building furniture in France. I have been creating an inventory of design prototypes over the past few years, and I have also created a website. I am now ready to start selling some pieces. I work alone. I have tested the market and have started to privately sell some pieces ranging 1,000 euros to 3,000 euros per piece. I have also chosen a brand name.
I have been putting off the creation of an enterprise business out of fear and confusion. Should I go with the micro-entrepreneur regime and then register my brand name as a trademark or should I start an société à responsabilité limitée (SARL) in order to establish my brand as an entity of its own?
For now this will be a very small operation - I don’t foresee passing 32,000 euros per year in the near future.
