Which legal structure freelance writing and consulting in France?
I will retire next year and will have a small pension. In addition to that I wish to continue working and will earn income from:
- freelance writing, blogging (revenue from advertising) and copywriting
- consultancy with international organisations, e.g. communications, writing, research
- facilitation / moderation of meetings
A few facts: I will not sell any hard goods. All my work is done with businesses outside France. I work from home. I have expenses - computer equipment, photo equipment, travel etc. I am PACSED and my partner has no income. I am willing to tailor my activity to whatever is easiest, e.g. I don’t have to facilitate meetings if that puts me into the wrong category etc.
From what I have been able to understand I would be best to start as an auto-entrepreneur and then upgrade to some type of entreprise individuelle if my income is higher than the auto-entrepreneur threshold? Obviously I am trying to lower tax + charges and find the most beneficial regime.
Additionally, if I have a pension and want to become an auto-entrepreneur, does that pension become part of the income calculations or is the auto-entrepreneur only applicable to the money I make as an auto-entrepreneur?
