Why has chalet changeover and hommes tout mains been refused?

I watched your video on registering as an auto-entrepreneur and read loads of posts on here, so I used the correct APE code and terminology to register my husband online to do chalet changeover (cleaning, laundry, meeting and greeting clients, handing keys over), as well as a handy man, doing lots of little jobs for owners of holiday apartments (changing light bulbs, cleaning windows, clearing guttering, putting up curtains and putting together flat pack furniture).

I was careful not to say anything that might require qualifications. So imagine my surprise when the Chambre de Metiers phoned this afternoon to say the application will be refused without proof of qualifications. I explained he’s not doing anything that requires qualifications but she said that even changing a light bulb requires you to be qualified.

She told me that she would email me with more information, and that these activities could be registered as para-hotellerie as a commercial activity and that it is definitely not artisanale. Have you heard of this before? Any advice on what to do would be gratefully appreciated.
