Should I set up business as a micro or auto-entrepreneur in France?
I have found your website very useful and informative. I would like to know if I should set up my business as a micro or auto-entrepreneur. I moved to France in March 2013 to work as a gardener/guardian for a villa owned by a British family. They also had a big estate in Scotland and I was employed through that, paying into the English system. My employer filled out the correct paperwork giving me entitlement to work abroad for up to five years.
My contract has now come to an end and I would like to set up a business in France. I already have some clients lined up and eager to get registered so I am correctly insured etc. I will mainly be cutting grass, hedges and general garden maintenance. However should a client require I would also like to be able to do planting and basic landscaping work, i.e. constructing fencing, decking and small pathways/patios.
Please could you advise me which type of business to register here in France and what APE (Activite Principale de l’Entreprise) code I would be?
